Training Center Cape May Command

Commanding Officer         


Captain Sarah “Kathy” Felger reported as Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, N.J., in July 2019. In this role, she oversees the basic training of approximately 3,800 new Coast Guard men and women annually.  CAPT Felger is returning to “The Coast Guard’s Hometown,” where she previously served as Executive Officer, CGC DEPENDABLE (WMEC 626), from 2010 through 2012.  Full bio.

CDR Scott A. Rae reported to Training Center Cape May in July 2018 as the Training Officer and in May of 2019 fleeted up to Executive Officer where he currently serves.  CDR Rae enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1990 with Recruit Company H-135 and later attended Officer Candidate School in May 2000 after serving nearly 10 years as a Boatswains Mate.   Full bio.


Command Master Chief     Master Chief Fraughton Bio

Master Chief Kody Fraughton assumed the duties of Command Master Chief on June 12, 2020, and serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Advisor for all U. S. Coast Guard missions on Training Center Cape May. As the senior enlisted advisor to the command, Master Chief Fraughton advises on workforce issues and initiatives relative to the activities of the Training Center and the impact on the recruits, staff and families that call Cape May homeFull bio.
