Training Center Cape May Command

Commanding Officer     


CAPT Gibbons took over as Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Training Center, Cape May, N.J., in June 2016. In this role, he oversees the basic training of approximately 3,800 new Coast Guard men and women annually. CAPT Gibbons is returning to Training Center Cape May for his third tour of duty in “The Coast Guard’s Hometown,” having served earlier as Executive Officer, and having started his career here, when he enlisted in 1985.   Full bio. 


Executive Officer            



CDR Scott A. Rae is the Executive Officer at Training Center Cape May, the Coast Guard’s sole accession point for enlisted personnel. As Executive Officer, he is charged with carrying out the mission of the Training Center, to: “Transform the recruits of today into the Coast Guardsmen of tomorrow while providing superior mission support.”
