Commanding Officer         

Captain Amanda M. Lee 

Captain Amanda M. Lee reported as Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, N.J., in June 2025. Training Center Cape May is the sole accession point of the service’s enlisted workforce.

Previously, she served as Special Assistant to the Commandant of the Coast Guard from 2024-2025. In that role, she advised the Commandant and other senior leaders on policy and strategy initiatives across operations and mission support activities and was responsible for preparing the Coast Guard for global contingency operations as a member of the Joint Force

Executive Officer                

Captain Gordon A. Hood

Captain Gordon A. Hood is the Executive Officer of Training Center Cape May, the birthplace and hometown of our enlisted workforce. He is second in command of the U.S. Coast Guard’s only boot camp and simultaneously oversees the base functions, facilities, and services of the large installation.

CAPT Hood reported to Cape May in June 2024 after attending the senior-level leadership program at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. 

Command Master Chief     

Master Chief Justin Kaczynski

Master Chief Kaczynski is the Command Senior Enlisted Advisor at Training Center Cape May, NJ, the birthplace and hometown of our enlisted workforce. As the senior enlisted advisor to the command, Master Chief Kaczynski advises on workforce issues and initiatives relative to the activities of the Training Center and the impact on the recruits, staff and families that call Cape May home. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 2002 and is a native of Glenolden, PA.
