Welcome Aboard EMT Certification School

This course provides classroom instruction and practical experience for emergency medical care given to ill or injured persons. Much of the practical exercises pertain to rescue techniques used in a maritime environment as encountered during Coast Guard SAR missions. It is a 130 hour intensive, college level course. Students will be completing both written and practical examinations.

This course is an approved 24 hour DOT National Standard EMT-B/EMT refresher. Additionally, it fulfills the skills verification required by NREMT.

School Eligibility

Must have current NREMT EMT-B or EMT and current "professional level" CPR certification by one of the following organizations: American Heart Association, American Red Cross; American Safety and Health Institute.

For pre-arrival courses, utilize the Pre Arrival e-mail template.

If a cancellation will affect the operational capability of the unit, ensure that the Operational Commander is notified and concurs with the request prior to submitting it.

If orders have not been issued, a message is not required. The unit may simply call TQC to delete the training request from Direct Access and then submit a new ETR for a new date.

Once a member’s orders are cancelled, a new ETR is required for the member to attend training.
