Commander Jacqueline Hunnicutt reported to Training Center Petaluma in July 2026, where she currently serves as the Executive Officer. A career Response Ashore Officer, she most recently served as the Emergency Management Division Chief at Sector Columbia River, directing an all-hazards emergency management program spanning Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. In this role she also served as a Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator, overseeing operations that saved and assisted more than 225 lives.
Commander Hunnicutt's operational background includes serving as Operations Officer for the Pacific Strike Team, where she led a 60-person deployable specialized response force responding to natural disasters, oil spills, hazardous materials, and CBRN incidents. She also served as the Deputy Marine Environmental Response Branch Chief at Sector Delaware Bay.
Commander Hunnicutt's staff assignments include serving as the Support & Special Assignments Officer at Personnel Service Center (PSC-OPM-2) and as Military Aide to the Superintendent of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Commander Hunnicutt is a 2010 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, where she served as Regimental Commander and earned a Bachelor of Science in Management. She later earned a Master of Business Administration from Pennsylvania State University in 2013, a Master of Science from the University of San Francisco in 2021, and earned the Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential in 2023.
Commander Hunnicutt's personal awards include one Meritorious Service Medal, seven Coast Guard Commendation Medals, and the Response Operations Ashore, Boat Forces Operations, and Prevention Operations Ashore insignias. She was also recognized with the Professional Achievement in Government Award at the 2019 Women of Color in STEM Conference.
Commander Hunnicutt is married to her husband, Jeff. Together they enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with their cats, Florence and Louie.
