INTEGRATED CROSS-BORDER MARITIME LAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS (ICMLEO)

The  ICMLEO course is designed to prepare U.S. and Canadian personnel for joint maritime law enforcement operations patrolling the waterways joining the United States and Canada in an effort to enhance border enforcement. The U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police provide training jointly. Designed for personnel from the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. law enforcement agencies, and Canadian law enforcement agencies engaged in ICMLEO. The course provides performance-based training on U.S. and Canadian laws, constitutional considerations, and policies pertaining to use of force, maritime safety, operational procedures and information sharing. Students are evaluated on criterion-referenced scenarios using boarding platforms in which they will demonstrate the ability to work with, and provide support for, U.S. and Canadian personnel engaged in maritime law enforcement operations.
