International Mobile Training Branch

The International Mobile Training Branch (MTB) is the backbone of the United States Coast Guard’s effort to provide training worldwide. Each year, working with the International Affairs staff, members of MTB travel to countries around the globe providing technical training and consulting services in maritime law enforcement, marine safety and environmental protection, small boat operation and maintenance, search and rescue, port security and infrastructure development for countries with waterway law enforcement programs. In 2011, MTB conducted 120 deployments in 60 countries providing instruction to nearly 2000 students.

MTB personnel receive training in counterterrorism, force protection, survival skills, and advanced training in their specialty fields. They are cross trained in several Coast Guard missions.

We are located at the United States Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown, Virginia. If you would like to request Mobile Training Team assistance, please contact the USCG Internal Affairs Division.
