COM-01 AN/WSC-3(v) Series- This online course will teach you how to operate and maintain the AN/WSC-3(V) radio set. Access the course through the Coast Guards Learning Portal at www.elearning.uscg.mil.

COM-03A TMR-90 HF Xcvr- This course provides performance based training for Electronics Technicians, E-3 through E-7, responsible for repairing the Thales Mackay TMR-90 HF Low Power Transmitter System. Students will receive skills and job aids needed to repair the TMR-90 HF Low Power Transmitter System to the field unit level. This includes performance of system operational verification tests, isolation of faults and successful restoration of equipment.

COM-05A SATCOM/NAVMACS II - This course will provide training for Electronics technicians responsible for the operation and maintenance of the NAVMACS II system and the Navy satellite communication systems. The system serves as an automated shipboard terminal for a satellite link interfacing ashore with the Common User Digital Information Exchange System (CUDIXS). The system provides accountability for all incoming and outgoing messages. This course will provide students with apprentice level skills required to safely maintain, repair and operate the following:

• AN/SYQ-26 (V) 5 NAVMACS II/SMS Tactical Message System (NAVMACS II)
• OK-454 (V)/WSC Control-Monitor Group (Single DAMA)
• TD-1271B/U Multiplexer (MUX)
• AN/WSC-3A Satellite Communications Set
• OE-82C/WSC-1 (V) Antenna Group
• AN/SSR-1 Satellite Receiver

Students will troubleshoot and repair data circuits, logic circuits, memory circuits, audio circuits, AC and DC power circuits, UHF transmit and receive circuits, satellite acquisition, and antenna control circuits.

Students will perform and evaluate computer diagnostic routines in order to troubleshoot and repair input/output (I/O), processor emulator and main memory computer failures.

COM-06 COMSEC Systems - This course provides training for Electronics Technicians, E2 through E7, responsible for the operation and maintenance of the AN/USC-43, KG-84C, and VINSON cryptographic equipment. Students will be given the information and skills required to safely maintain, repair and operate the AN/USC-43, KG-84C, and VINSON cryptographic equipment. Students will receive COMSEC Awareness training that includes the requirements set forth in DODI 4660.2. Students will operate the AN/USC-43, KG-84C, and VINSON in order to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair the equipment down to the Card Replacement Order (CRO). Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a DD FORM 1435, COMSEC MAINTENANCE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE RECORD, for the AN/USC-43, KG-84C, and VINSON cryptographic equipment.

NOTE: All graduates from ET 'A' School after January, 2007 have the COMSEC Competency Code.
