Instructor Development Course

    Purpose:
    Provides personnel assigned to instructor duty the skills to conduct performance-based instruction to individuals, groups or teams. Students gain experience in the use of: adult learning theories, effective communication/presentation skills, feedback, managing the learning environment, effectively using a variety of media/instructional methods, establishing/maintaining instructor credibility, lesson planning, reading/writing performance-based objectives, preparing the instructional site, demonstrating effective questioning/answering skills, providing positive reinforcement/motivational incentives, evaluating learner performance/delivery of instruction and reporting evaluation information.

    Prerequisites:
    Officers, Petty Officers, and GS employees assigned to instructor duty
