Tuition Assistance Waivers

ETQC may grant a waiver to TA policies and procedures. Requests for waivers are situational and will only be considered case-by-case. Members shall exhaust all efforts to resolve courses/tuition-related concerns through their school before submitting a waiver to the ETQC. If the member cannot resolve the issue with the school, the member may proceed with a waiver through the ETQC. Do not submit a waiver to the Navy.

Reasons for a Waiver:

•    Hospitalization
•    Permanent Change of Station (PCS)
•    Temporary Duty (TDY)
•    Operational Necessity
•    Documented Emergency Leave
•    Change in Military Duties

The student must verify the academic institution's withdrawal policy before seeking a waiver. For valid emergency or operational requirements, members should exhaust all efforts to find a resolution with the school before requesting a waiver. Evidence of efforts should accompany any waiver request to ETQC.

The Education and Training Quota Management Command (ETQC) must receive a complete TA application NO LESS than 14 days before the course convene date. Tuition Assistance Waivers for missing the 14-day submission rule can be requested; however, there is no guarantee you will receive approval.
