From Raleigh, NC

• From the Raleigh, NC area take I-440 (a.k.a. Inner Beltway) toward ROCKY MOUNT
• Take the Knightdale Bypass exit 14 onto US-64 EAST toward ROCKY MOUNT, NC
• Follow US-64 EAST to WILLIAMSTON, NC. Take exit 514 onto US-17 NORTH toward AHOSKIE / WINDSOR, NC

• At WINDSOR, follow US-17 NORTH to ELIZABETH CITY, NC

• Do not take the first exit into Elizabeth City. Stay on the bypass (toward Chesapeake, VA) until you see the Halstead Blvd Ext, exit 258

• Take the Halstead Blvd Ext exit 258, at the end of the ramp, make a right.
   

Approximate driving time & distance from US-64 (Knightdale) to Elizabeth City: 2 hr. 50 min. / 155 miles

From Fayetteville (or points South)

• Take I-95 NORTH toward RICHMOND, VA

• Take exit 138 onto US-64 EAST toward TARBORO / ROCKY MOUNT

• Follow US-64 EAST to WILLIAMSTON, NC. Take exit 514 onto US-17 NORTH toward AHOSKIE / WINDSOR, NC

• At WINDSOR, follow US-17 NORTH to ELIZABETH CITY, NC

• Do not take the first exit into Elizabeth City.Stay on the bypass (toward Chesapeake, VA) until you see the Halstead Blvd Ext, exit 258

• Take the Halstead Blvd Ext exit 258, at the end of the ramp, make a right.

• Drive approximately 8 miles until you come to the Coast Guard Support Center Front Gate

From Norfolk International Airport

• Take  I-64 WEST toward VIRGINIA BEACH / CHESAPEAKE

• Take exit 291B  toward ELIZABETH CITY, NC (connects with VA-104 S) Follow VA-104 S for a few miles and merge onto US-17 S. Stay US-17 S into NC.

• Do not take the first exit into Elizabeth City. Stay on the bypass (toward Hertford) until you see the Halstead Blvd Ext, exit 258

• Take the Halstead Blvd Ext exit 258, at the end of the ramp, make a left.

• Drive approximately 8 miles until you come to the Coast Guard Support Center Front Gate

From Washington D.C. (or points North)

• Take I-95 NORTH South towards  RICHMOND, VA

• Take exit 84A onto I-295 SOUTH toward ROCKY MOUNT, NC

• Take exit 28A onto I-64 EAST toward VIRGINIA BEACH / NORFOLK

• Take exit 264 onto I-664 SOUTH toward NEWPORT NEWS / SUFFOLK / CHESAPEAKE

• Take exit 15B onto I-64 WEST toward VIRGINIA BEACH / CHESAPEAKE

• Take exit 291B  toward ELIZABETH CITY, NC (connects with VA-104 S) Follow VA-104 S for a few miles and merge onto US-17 S. Stay US-17 S into NC.

From the Bay Bridge Tunnel

• If you are coming through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel on US-13 South, stay on US-13 South until you can merge onto I-64 E

• (IMPORTANT! I-64 is not well marked as East or West in this section. You want to follow signs toward CHESAPEAKE or SUFFOLK and away from RICHMOND or WILLIAMSBURG.)

• Take exit 291B toward Elizabeth City. (connects with VA-104 S)

• Follow VA-104 S for a few miles and merge onto US-17 S.

• Stay US-17 S into NC.

• Do not take the first exit into Elizabeth City. Stay on the bypass (toward Hertford) until you see the Halstead Blvd Ext, exit 258

• Take the Halstead Blvd Ext exit 258, at the end of the ramp, make a left.

• Drive approximately 8 miles until you come to the Coast Guard Support Center Front Gate
